One of our goals is to help the women in our program with empowerment by establishing a business. We have the women invest some of the donated money into a way for them to earn an income.
As the business increases, we remove some of the investment, and put it back into the family’s support. Once the family is doing well, and the business provides for the family, we will withdraw the support. Then we will identify another family to support.
Agnes is the mother to two of the boys in our program. Her empowerment comes from a business in the market area near her home. She has struggled, but is determined to succeed. We will keep you updated as we monitor how she is doing. Agnes sells small food items like maize, beans, and cabbage. She also sells items like soap, petroleum jelly and matches.
